why do YOU guys wear collars?
« Reply #570 on: September 29, 2015, 07:36:48 PM »
because kids at my school make fun of kids that wear collars and start teasing them, so I'm trying to stop that with a few other furry friends at my school. I keep getting asked why I wear it, so while I state the reason I wear it.its a pink dog collar, that my dog used to wear, but she got a new one so I didn't know what to do with it....and thus, I wear it.

I wear one mostly because I think they can be nice accessories, kinda like necklaces.

2. Identification as a member of the fandom

3. I heard that it helps with species dysphoria in some cases (unconfirmed)

My friend is getting us matching collars for Christmas.

They're leather and she says they're well-made but I'm still apprehensive about wearing one.

There's nothing scary about it.
Only one thing about it, is people might keep asking you about it or interpretate it wrong. But it doesn't annoy me much, I use it to advertise the fandom.

I used to wear my deceased dog's tag around my neck as a necklace, when asked I would just say it means something special to me.

I dunno, I'm worried my stepmom will try to get rid of it or call me names.

Before I began to wear my dogs old pink collar I used to wear my deceased dogs brown one. But an word got out it belonged to my dead dog, kids went nuts! And started saying it was weird....so now that I wear a different collar, I am still laughed at....I dunno how you do it.

I'd be a bit hesitant to wear it out in public but I like to wear my tan leather collar around the house when I'm the only one home, I need to get a tag with My sona's name on it though .-.

I also like to wear a collar during the winter months, because my body heat warms up the collar, so when its cold and my fingers or hands get cold I can just wrap it around them until the heat fades then put it back on.

I wore a collar for a long time in high school. Most people thought it was a goth thing, but we all here know what it was about. In any case, I think it was generally just accepted as an accessory as long as you weren't out shouting about being a furry to everyone.

Now I wear one, I feel like a dog getting their first collar and scratch and tug at it all the time. Guess I'm just one of those untamed ones at heart. They just make me want to chew them off. Here's a question - would you let your mate wear one if you didn't, or would you feel too much like his/her owner? It wouldn't bother me any I don't think. Kind of sexy, honestly - just doesn't work for me wearing one. Cursed collars! *growl*

I used to wear one while I was in a master/pet relationship, but I have a black leather collar that I now wear just to wear it. It has a tag with a wolf pawprint on one side, and my Inupiat name on the other.

This is mine :3 Green and Red to match my coloration as a dragon! The inner lining is purple though :3 It's lamb leather, very soft and the ring has a delightful jingle to it when I walk XD

And I wear it out in public from time to time. But if I'm at home (alone or with my owner) then I'd wear it all the time XD I love it! It's even featured in my avatar, he and it are inseparable! Why wear it? Cause it feels great, and makes me feel closer to Soul (me as a Dragon), or can make me feel all submissive  X3 but we won't get into that.

I wear a black fake leather collar when I'm home alone or with my master/mate. He thinks it's hot.  :)
