I would only need about 2-3gb seeing I don't really run that much (mainly because I can't xD)
But I still wouldn't complain if I had 24gb in my computer xD
I'm embarrassed about my desktop now. Haha.

Yeah I have to get another job, but now I have race/university and a car to think of. It'll all come quicker than I expect. But I've decided if I'm going to buy anything it'll be a new desktop :P

Right now I have an Inspiron 1501 laptop that sucks pretty badly. It has Vista on it with only around 500MB of RAM. Vista needs 2GB for optimal performance... So my computer still lags with everything on its lowest settings. What's more, my Wireless Card does not work with any other Operating Systems other than Vista, so I can't use Ubuntu or anything else. I need a new laptop or PC, but unfortunately I have no money for that. 'Tis frustrating.  :/

That would be frustrating. :/ Computers insufficiently built to minimum requirements ftl.
I lol when I see computers at stores with like 2gb of ram and it says they run a 64 bit operating system.

I was in the task manager of my school's desktops the other week and there was like 700mb of ram being used, and on the graph thing there was like one bar out of about 10 there lit up o.o; With constant 1% CPU usage - didn't know the school computers were THAT good ._.

I used to have a crappy computer a few years back with a broken power button.
You HAD to hit the top of the case to turn it on. It was epic xD

I lol when I see computers at stores with like 2gb of ram and it says they run a 64 bit operating system.
Actually, running 64-bit on a 2GB computer might not gain any real performance gain against the 32-bit.. but that doesn't mean that it will run worse than the 32-bit would.. besides, RAM is hella cheap nowdays, so if you'd be running on 32-bit and decide to put in another 2GB of RAM, it's possible that only 3GB of that can actually be used, running 64-bit at the start is therefore considered more future-proof.

I wouldn't put 64-bit on anything below 2GB however...
