((Hope this is okay for you all..))

~*~The evening settled quietly as Luna rose high behind the mountains, filtering its light through the clouds in irredescent shimmers as it graced the land. With every touch upon the periwinkle sweetgrass, it shone like a mirror laced with the brightest of Gaia's light; fingers of Luna's hue crept across the lands, and the clouds would soon clear away, revealing the Goddess in all her glory. The high mountains sillhouetted against the background seemed like monolithic guardians, forever protecting the large, enclosed clearing. Their pitch majesty was only visible for the sky that surrounded the peaceful serenity of the Goddess; a beautious plum.

The sounds of the sweetgrass fields were simply that of the north winds rushing through, whispers of the voices of ancestors tinkling like the music of bells. Magic coursed through the glowing lands; it had been there since the dawn of its age. The wind through the trees and the grass was a sweet, warm wind, smelling heavily of sweetgrass resembling that of freshly bailed hay in the humans' world. The water that ran in small streams through the several glades and mainland towards the lake and the falls at the southern tip of the land only rung out with its merry bubbling and gurgling. Truly the lands were blessed with babbling brooks, and merry streams and inlets of water; it was an abundant source. The rush of the falls nearest the cliffs were the serenity of her home.

The winds now rustled through irredescent, sparkling fur of the female who stood atop the dusty red cliffs over the falls of the Nation, her muzzle uplifted high; she was singing her wolfsong to Luna and Gaia on this night - a highpitched intonation was one that she carried, prideful and mournful all at once, crystalline and clear. The surging sound carried up through her corded neck and out from her powerful jaws; the moonlight shining down on her made her seem quite the etheral creature as she glowed the light as though a reflective mirror had been implanted within her. Her eyes closed, only to open as she listened to her sound, cocking her head; deep foresty hues were laced with a glowing molten gold, patterned in intricate design within her orbs, and a small paw would uplift before she recoiled onto her haunches, sitting prim and proper atop the rushing falls. Her aura had again caught her up, and her glow could be seen for miles.

Some in her tribe had called her "freak" as she was growing into her stages of becoming a yearling, though she was now an elder by far. She had learned to overcome those names with a robust love for life, and even a love for those who had shunned her in the past. All she could do now was simply wait to see...if life would arise~*~

~A disturbance could be felt simmering through the land. A darkness temporarilly shaded the world with black, but not beyond sight. The grasses of the lands swayed in the wind, but then so more violently, as if the wind had gone from a kind, gentle breeze, to a hateful, nonceasing gust. Luna was geised by a cloud, and there was a quiet tremble in the earth.

Somewhere nearby, a dark presence was entering this world, the magic was interupted as it flowed through the earth, and nature could feel something was not right. An evil was coming, but wasn't quite within tangible perception of mortal things. Then, on top of the lake, the surface rippled from one spot, outward. Suddenly with a violence that not so much as disturbed that ripple, or made a sound, space tore from its fragile fabric, only for a second, and a figure appeared.

Returning to normal, space mended itself, stitching back together, but there was an invisible scar. The surface of the lake trembled, and then eased to a calm. Luna was able to push past the cloud with her light, only to see Gaia with her nature trembling in the presence of something... powerful.

Floating, as if standing, above the surface of the lake was a figure. Not that of a human, but of something that had the form of a human, yet not. Luna gazed down and saw a figure with long, glimmering white hair, and furr that was striped with white and black... a tail swayed back and forth. An impenetrable shadow suddenly burst forth, and a pair of large, Darch Angel wings revealed themselves as the being gazed toward the sky.

His eyes contradicted his presence, as they were a beautiful emerald green, the pools shown deeply into a world beyond comprehension.

Nature seemed to calm, as the wind no longer wished to hurt the grass, and in appology, it blew gently. It was not the fault of the wind, as it seemed to have been possessed, and the grass, wounded, slowly tried to recover.

The figure floated there, gazing into the sky, piercing Luna with his gaze, a grin creasing his lips, "In this world I come, for time and space is mine, and so, thou shalt be mine, as I will come and wretch thy soul from thy dying grasp. Give unto me thyself, for I shall take thee in all thy helplessness, and deliver thee from this world, into endless oblivion!" A smirk...

And the world trembled as he vanished.~

((Take note in this, my character is and ACTUAL dragoness in this RP, not like a dragon-person like my avy. ^^))

*~ Nyx, Supreme of the forest land, admired the sound she heard ringing and echoing throughout her cavern. She lifted her head detecting a canine prescence above her and was surprised that the water of the falls had not drown out this solmn song. She had awaken with an insatiable appetite, ready to hunt. Although she had only seen ninety-six summers, she had aged mentally beyond her years... making her an expert predator. On all fours, the great black wyrm walked to the mouth of the secluded cave, just barely sticking her head between the strings of falling water to gaze at the moon, the stars, and her furry visitor. Her gray eyes lightened with a bit of curiousity. Never, in all of her years had she seen a lone wolf... All of the wolves she had ever seen in her territory were always gathered in packs. She paused, debating on whether to hunt the wolf, but in the end, decided that intruder was insufficent for a meal. The scaled supreme of the land slinked out of the cave and spread her wings to their full span, allowing them to dry. Nyx let out a wisp of smoke as she raised to her haunches and beat the wind below her with her wings. Her appetite was growing and clawing at her stomach by now. She sprang into flight ready to taunt the closest human village. She was hungry; and plus, humans had less hair than her usual meals.~*

((Wow, I'm an intruder in my own homeland XD How interesting))

~*~A change in the winds had come, and the clouds shifted their breaks again, Luna rising higher and higher in the sky until she was but a looming figure of grace and ethereal beauty. The light was much brighter now, as no clouds stood to thwart the Goddess from shining. The crystalline howl which had reverberated throughout the land was again sent up into the chill air of the Fall season - the sound rocketed, rending the sky of its placid silence. The beast's paw had lifted into the air as she howled, her eyes closed as she pushed her body to send it louder and louder. She stopped suddenly, a scent on the wind. Crouching instantly, the body of the creature lowered against the dusty red rock, the color sweeping her stomach fur; it would be gone in a moment's notice as she rocketed down the sloping hill, past the river which lead toward the falls. Swift paws brought her past the cave in the mouth of the falls, and around the bend of the oaken glade, out towards the main field.

Her claws dug into the ground, bolstering her speed as she flew by, a simple glowing blur in the night. Rocks and grass parted for her, her body low to the ground. The scent was heavy now, and she was so close, her nostrils twitched, aching...a longing to know what this was that smelled in such a manner. Thoughts coursed through her suddenly, and her mind began to turn; the once silent nights she had endured in her homeland...were they to be broken again? One would come to find out in a short matter of time. She ducked behind a thick fallen log, mists rolling across this part of the land from the churning and bubbling river not too far; the glades and their swamps and small ponds..enough water was here to create mist enough to cover the entire valley, and often it did on Fall mornings. The sun which pierced through was indescribable, but only known to her as an "incandescent shower of light".

The creature she smelled, if indeed it was a creature lay nearly 20 yards from her. It was then she thanked Gaia silently, for her scent was naturally that of the sweetgrass in her field..she was completely guised, masked under it...a perfect hideaway.~*~

~There was a shudder, and in the depths of the cave said Dragoness had just left, a pair of green eyes opened, and a white, pearly grin followed, with the glint of a fang. The visitor to this world had pierced space once again, and eyed the large creature leaving. He waited quietly, then gazed upward, knowing the presence of the other, smaller being, was near. He sunk slowly into the ground, as if sinking into water, yet the earth did not ripple, it was as if he wasn't even there.~
"Hhnhhnhhnn... I can feel the life-blood of this world... ---
I shall drain it..."

((When I say she's surpreme of the land, I mean that there are no opposing creatures, mainly other dragons. I mean that no other creatures have pushed her out of the land, tried to fight her for the land, nor hunted on her game. ^-^ Sorry if it sounded awkward...))

*~Nyx took a banking dive at the first sign of light. Light usually meant humans that were up defying the darkness. As the wind's whistle became a humming drone, the ground rose swiftly to meet her. Indeed, there was a small villiage that stood before her. She snorted at first, indicating that she was displeased with the filthy condition of the enviroment. Humans never respected nature... Which is why she loathed them so. Without hesitation or care for stealth, she let out a deep-throated roar, spreading her wings until the tips of the touched. Instantly, humans scrambled out their doors in sheer terror to see what was happening; only to meet their reptilian reaper. The wyrm drew in a deep breath and exhaled the first wave of death among the humans that were dumb enough to stay stationary. She had made up her mind that there would be no survivors of this attack.
Again, she let out hot flames setting the remaining houses ablaze. Humans that fled the fires were only guaranteed a more painful death of scale, teeth, and claws. As they ran in a full fledged panic, the dragoness walked amongst the fithly beings goring them one by one with a casual claw and slapping them down with her tail. She had even eaten a few of them raw to take the edge off her hunger.
After there was no more movement other than the dancing of the flames across the burning town, she took her fill on the sizzling corpses that laid scattered about the ground. It was a sucessful hunt. She was full, in both her physical appetite, and her craving of chaos. With that, she turned around to set off to her cave, but paused... She felt another prescence, but could not decipher where it might be... She only knew it was close.~*

((She meets you after her meal. Lol. It's not good to introduce yourself to a hungry dragon. ^^'))

~A second shudder, and high above gazing down at the scene, the visitor watched with his green eyes, "Barbaric..." a slight frown, as he would of expected more majesty from a creature of that size and posture...

He floated there for a short while, and then shimmered slightly, vanishing as if he was fading ((Closest similarity, Ryouko from Tenchi Muyo. Yes, I like anime.)). Appeared within a flaming home, and knelt down as pieces of ember and burning cinders fell about him, he picked up a small object.. a memoir of a son to a father... promising that he would be home soon.

The visitor grinned... "There will be revenge... something I most certainly would like to see..."

A spacial vibration, and he vanished once again...~

(Alright...thus far we have uber high fantasy, traditional lore, and quasi-demonic entities tearing through the space-time continum...I'll try being normal (modern day) and see where that gets me?  Feel free to give me a calibratory *whack* if you've the need, Noekh. )

Alex was hoofing it across the moderately broken terrain of forest, his footfalls soft against the rich earth - he'd been waiting for something like this for a while.

The rush of the evening's cool air swept the mountainside the fox hiked up, his russet-red fur wet and clinging in little spined mats to itself as he had needed to swim across one river already.  The warm-weather utility pants he wore had shead most of the water they had taken on, and the technical tank-top he sported was doing a good job at keeping him warm, while whicking away the moisture from his wet fur; thank the stars for technology.  There were some burrs in his fur that he'd have to take care of later, but the small twigs and spots of mud were far from on his mind - he had a mountain to conquer.  His breath was controlled, his blue eyes ever forward, looking toward the summit as his legs pumped in a steady, methodical gait - he was pacing himself.

Being a mercenary was a sort of outcast profession, in that not many people actually knew a mercenary as a mercenary.  Those that did tended to have money, and lots of it - but few, if any of them, were friends.  'Jobs' weren't a problem after the first one, typically, and life was an almost alarming shade of simple for what it held.  But, Alex had just returned from a job not two days ago.  His stipend was already sitting comfortably in his checking account, but his mind was far from at-ease - he needed a challenge still.

Riiiiiiiiiiiip!  That is what the three days of his nerves being on a razor's edge were primed for - those two little seconds in which a full thrity bullets were loosed at one target, one target of opportunity, and one unlucky as well as innocent bystander.

The fox's slender, though hard frame darted quickly from turn to turn, following the trail up the mountain, the feel of fresh adreanline and an honest tinge of exhaustion in his hot lungs a good one.  It was slow in replacing the phantom tension of breathless waiting, the imminent threat of discovery when he was battling with sleep to stay alert, and alive, though the running han won out this time - the fox felt good as the tension left him with each leap and bound through the steeply sweeping forest.  No radio or MP3 player was going to spoil this moment, it was simply a beautiful night, hosting a cool, fresh wind, and a lush verdant backdrop to ease his taut senses.  It was beautiful.

The breeze picked up a little as Alex drew higher upon the mountain's summit, the air bearing with it the weight of fresh water, and in kind a lulling refreshedness.  Still Alex fought against himself, pushing the boundaries his mind set on his body.  Presently, his butt-pack felt like it was dragging him down each time it's weight fell back on his hips, and even something so small as his wristwatch felt heavy.  The small, sturdy hunting knife at his side felt heavier the longer he ran on, and the distant though growing roar of a waterfall up ahead seemed to press him back in some invisible way - though he did not stop until in one breathy gasp he locked his paws behind his head, sucking in air in deep gasps as he stood in a lush grassy clearing alongside a river and just downstream of the roaring waterfall, the faint feeling of stray gusts of mist falling on his fur a cold tingle amidst a wash of burning exertion.

With a soft grin, Alex closed his blue eyes, sinking to his knees, the feeling strangely plesant as his lean though solid frame heaved slightly with his breath's effort.  Then, he heard it.

A howl, brilliant and sorrowful in the same kind gripped the night air above the roar of the waterfall, posessive, yet gentle, followed by a sudden warmth of white light further upstream.  What the shit is that?  Though completely foreign to him, Alex was surprised that he, himself, didn't feel threatened.  The light was gentle, hardly offending his eyes though it was a plesant evening, and almost warm in a way, though it was far off.  For a few quiet moments he simply watched, trying to discern the source of the light, his breathing slowing to normal as he did.

At length, the light dissapated, and acting upon the stirring inside of him, Alex began walking toward the light, his russet and white tail sweeping softly at the grass beneath him, his black-tipped ears listening and curious.  The young fox wasn't transfixed, he simply felt a humblingly gentle peace when he saw the light, and being honest with himself, he wanted to experience it again, if nothing else.  The get-away from what he called life was nice, but something almost primal within him told him that he could find greater release, if he simply looked.

~Another distortion, quiet this time, left him very high in the air, as he floated, watching the land from above. His emerald pools slipped back and forth. The visitor wanted to find more interesting things... he then noticed something moving below... and he looked, his eyes focusing, and then almost as if they moved outside his body, his vision seemed to 'zoom' in, and he caught the figuresque frame of a Fox...

"Interesting.. something new to observe..." and he shimmered, disappearing...

Behind the waterfall, the visitor peered from the seperation of water. He looked at all the things the fox carried, and then noticed this being's apparent interest in something... and he looked ahead of the creature... seeing the source of his attention...

"What could this be...?" the visitor shimmered once again...

Now he was partly melded with the rockface of the cliff from which the water fell... and only his green eyes could be seen.. if seen at all.. as they watched closely... he almost had the curiousity of a child... but there was no innocence within him to match...

"Let us see what interests you so....."~

((Barbaric? Lol. Look at we do to the dragoness's land!))

*~Nyx looked about sensing that something. It began to aggrivate her that she could not discern what the creature was, providing it was a creature at all. She looked into the starry night, half-expecting to see another challenging dragon or foe. After a few moments of silent gazing, the feeling completely vanished.

Strange... she thought to herself.

The winged reptile turned to look behind her, to reassure herself she wasn't being watched, and only found the flames devouring remains of houses as small ashes danced in the air. She was alone now. She gathered her bearings and took to the air to head back to her home. There, she would bathe her ebony scales that had been defiled while she was prepearing her meal.

She had not liked the feeling that she'd picked up on at that village. Something was lurking in her territory. Something bold. Something that had no fear. Something evil. As she landed at the mouth of the cave, she felt that same dread that she felt at the village. Whatever it was, it was back. She scrutinized at the outside of her cave curiously. Her acute draconic eyes spotted something... It seemed to be two green eyes... She had become so captivated in those deep green eyes, she did not move. They seemed empty of feeling; like the emerald glass orbs of a young girls's doll.~*

~Suddenly the Emerald Eyes fixed on her... they seeming to pierce her very being... and they might have.. as they could pierce almost anything else.

Unmistakably, the mind would trick you into thinking those eyes showed off a grin... a grin with no heart, feeling,  or soul...
Those eyes closed... and whatever evidence of there ever beeing any... was gone...

This certainly was a call for concern...

"It seems as though my presence... is no longer without knowlege...
But of course... it was that... creature... that found me...
Certainly she was large... and I would have thought there might be a.. majesty... to such a being..
But none-the-less... she is observant...
...Good... this will certainly be interesting..."

A chuckle rippled quietly in the depths of minds... almost unheard... but definately unnerving...~

*~The eyes in the rocks closed, and again, as before, the knot in her stomach evaded her as quicky as it had come upon her. She shook her head and began to wonder if she had imagined the whole incident. Closely, she observed the rock in which she had seen the piercing gaze, running a talon across the surface to stimulate some movement. Nothing. It was just a rock. The same as the ones affixed around the entrance of the cave. She felt the need to bathe; and obeyed the urge by showering under the falls. She made sure to wash every scale; for she could feel eyes upon her like flies upon a decaying carcus.~*

((Flies don't generally like a fresh carcus... mostly they like one that's begun to rot some. Please excuse me for correction... x-x))

~The wind blew quietly,

The Fox was no longer interesting...
The visitor moved like an apparition... as if he was not truly physical...
The large creature he found interesting now...
Unmistakably it seemed as though his attention was certainly short-lived for anything that gave a hint of being boring...
Those green eyes opened at the floor, in a shadow... watching the 'Dragoness'... he hid his presence... if not by a little effort this time...

He was observing.... clearly this creature was female... as he hadn't taken a real effort to evaluate her before...
If anything, he might of enjoyed her handling that village had she at least shown a little more class...
He's learned through ages and much travel that class was what got you around... and got what you wanted...

"The female bathes her scales as if to bathe her sins... as if a simple washing would bring back a purity lost..."
His voice could be heard, but from where was undecipherable... he was, without a doubt, speaking to Her...
"Quite the interesting creature... you slaughter so many... and manage to dirty yourself...
Time will teach you how to kill and never let blood stain your blade...
And experience will show you how to truly leave your mark... without leaving evidence about you..."

An unnerving chuckle... and the eyes closed...

*~The dragonkin's eyes narrowed to slits and began to search for the source of the omnious voice that reverberated throughout her lair. Her grey eyes brightened with a bit of morbid curiousity. She slipped from the falling water to the inside of her cave. Though it was dark, Nyx could see perfectly. There was no intruder; not even a hint of life. She leaned her head to one side in wonder, debating on whether to answer the voice. After an akward moment of silence, she spoke,"I don't wash away the blood out of shame," she said softly,"Contrary to most beliefs, we dragons aren't savage beasts."~*

(Noey*pounces* :D  don ask, me an Noey are like sister and brother in both real life and her roleplays 8) )

*in the other realms, sat a dark fox...errr...kitsune, his 9 tails swishing feverently as he awaited his orders from the Draconic Gods he followed. He dared not to think about what would become of him if he failed whatever they tasked him with. He perked his ears up at the presence of his master, the great Silver Dragon God, Mirrorwing.*

(hope you can follow my conversation with this guy...I made him up in like 2 seconds XD lol)

Mirrorwing: Thank you for waiting, my friend

Zero: Of course master...I would never leave if you asked me to wait, now may I ask what it is you need of me?

Mirrorwing: I have felt a great and un-easy disturbance in the realm of Gaia, I want you to meet up with the locals and find a way to set the realms back into order

Zero: As you wish master

*with that, the dark kitsune began to walk off before Mirrorwing's soft, yet stern voice rang out again*

Mirrorwing: And please...try not to attract un-wanted attention...I do not want to find out that your planes-walking caused another slip-space rupture

*the kitsune grinned and nodded before vanishing into the portal he had opened and stepped out, only to find himself 15 feet in the air, over a vast plain of sweetgrass that boardered a dense forest*

Zero: oh..crud...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

*the spirit-fox thudded into the grassy plains hard, feeling some bones and muscles strain under the hard landing. the kitsune dared not to get up, but his time diplacement abilities were drained from the planes-walking so he couldn't heal the injuries he sustained from the fall, growling in agony, he inched his way towards the forest, trying not to pay attention to the badly dislocated left-rear leg*

Zero: and this...GAH...day was going so...ung...well
