It's not a weird town, it's just strange.
Like, the place where they now train conscripts used to be a prison camp during/after the civil war, and it was the deadliest camp in the country.
Which also means this town has (iirc) the biggest mass grave in the country.
And the place where I go to school has been, among other things, a German prison camp.
You come here expecting nothing too out of the ordinary, but then when you scratch the surface you find all kinds of things people (understandably) never talk about.
I have no memories of getting taught about how -all- Germans were rounded up during/after the war rather than just soldiers.
Random pointless things and stuff.
