[Farewell]

"Yea... Maybe." He shrugged looking at her abdomen, placing his paw there. "How is it by the way. Healing well?"

Zaida watched with a furrowed brow, while eating her rice and mushrooms almost done with her meal.

Sierra handed them to Cifero and leaned over his shoulder to read them.

Ruby sighed
"I apologize if I was a bit of a brat earlier...the servants used to spoil me so I am used to being treated like a "princess" by them. Father may not have done the same but I was still used to it." She took a bite of the sandwiche.

The crat peered at the writing, just able to make it out through the bloodstains. "Hm... that's not good," he said. "According to these, Daisy, while on the way home, got stunned by a strange group of people who..." Cifero blinked. "... Who pinned her to the wall and tried to take her gem." He flipped to the next page. "What's more, they seemed to know something about her abilities, which is why they attacked her in the first place..." Turning to the last page, Cifero furrowed his brow. "She managed to get free, then lost them in the city before returning here, but whatever they had used to cut into her had left her mortally wounded... but she still has her gem." The crat looked down at the wound on his belly. "... Who do you think it could've been?"


Cassy nodded slowly. "I see," she replied, biting into her own sandwich and chewing thoughtfully as something occurred to her. "... Why belly dancing?"


Zanthe surpressed the urge to tense up as Devin touched her abdomen, but was unable to stop her cheeks from coloring ever so slightly. "Yes," she said, keeping her initial reply to-the-point. "Though the stab wound still has some way to go."

[Farewell]

"Mmm again, I'm sorry about what I did. I'm usually assigned to other criminals. If I just knew ahead of time..." He huffed softly before carefully taking his paw away.

[Cifero Windtail]

Zanthe gently touched Devin's shoulder. "Do not worry yourself," she said. "I have been stabbed in the abdomen several times before... as you probably noticed when you dressed my wounds." The catfox got a slight thousand-yard stare, but maintained a neutral expression.

[Farewell]

"I did." He said in soft sympathetic voice. "I'm not saying right now but If you need to, you can talk to me zanthe..." He finished before taking a drink of water. "Also" Devin looked around, the restaurant getting empty. "After this I need to tell you something important... About my 'job'..."

[Cifero Windtail]

Zanthe, breaking out of her slight stare, nodded at Devin's words. "Of course," she said, glancing around herself. "Perhaps I should take the remainder of my meal with me, to be safe."

[Farewell]

He gave a nod. "Sounds good.." He pushed his empty plate to the side, zaida stacking her plate on his.
He waved over to the waiter. "We're ready to pay. Also could we have a box?"
The zebra came back with a box before Devin paid off the food.

Moving deftly, Zanthe emptied her food into the box, placed her plate with Devin and Zaida's, and closed the lid of the box, picking it up. "Thank you," she said to the zebra, bowing slightly before turning once more to Devin, her senses all over the place.

There was a bit of silence as they walked outside and into the car, Devin cautious. "Well my job. I don't actually work for the mafia..." He was very serious, his voice stern and eyes locked on hers. "I work for a secret a agency, a spy. It's my job to work for high shot criminals and take down them down. Like the mafia..." He sighed. "I would've told you sooner but I was ordered not to. I'm telling you this because I trust you, my life is now in your hands but I know you wouldn't betray me... At least I hope so."

[Cifero Windtail]

There was a bit of silence as they walked outside and into the car, Devin cautious. "Well my job. I don't actually work for the mafia..." He was very serious, his voice stern and eyes locked on hers. "I work for a secret a agency, a spy. It's my job to work for high shot criminals and take down them down. Like the mafia..." He sighed. "I would've told you sooner but I was ordered not to. I'm telling you this because I trust you, my life is now in your hands but I know you wouldn't betray me... At least I hope so."

Zanthe thought for a few moments, walking along beside Devin. As she did, her hand pushed up her shirt a touch and rested softly against the bandaged stab wound that was a little under and to the right of her navel. He trusts me... "...Were they the ones who ordered the hit on me?" she murmured silently to him in a curious way.

[Farewell]

"No, of course not. The mafia did... Again, I thought you were another criminal so I went after you." He said looking down at her.

[Cifero Windtail]

The catfox closed her eyes and nodded once, letting her hand fall back to her side. "... You didn't kill me back when you had the chance, Devin," Zanthe said, turning to Devin and opening her eyes. "You could've easily done me in, but you did not. That speaks much of your true personality." Her gaze looked slightly amused in a pleasant way for a brief moment. "To put it another way, I can assure you that your secret is safe."

With a light smile he rubbed the back of his neck. "Thanks, I'm glad to hear that... I really am." Devin said with a soft relieved sigh as they walked. "Hey, Zaida was taking the car home and since we're walking I was wondering... if you wanted to stop at the park maybe?"

*Red kissed her heard before walking to the sofa*
