Indeed, it certainly does; those similarities, being some of my favourite Beatles works, are likely what contribute to my love of the song. I've never noticed an ELO song removed from YouTube, though.    I should certainly dig further into The Bee Gee's catalogue, as well.

Oh, I would imagine so. I'm just very slow when it comes to exploring new music - even from bands/artists I like.    Frankly, I haven't even heard that ELO track yet, but I do agree! It's quite lovely, that.

My first ever "favourite" Bee Gee song was Spicks and Specks and it possibly still is... still, I'm curious about your take on this one.  I find it a little Beatley but couldn't pinpoint any one song it's like.

You're right, that does sound quite Beatle-esque. I'm having a bit of trouble putting my finger on it exactly, but it sounds roughly like a later Beatles work, perhaps around the White Album-Abbey Road era. It might just be me, but I find that it reminds me somewhat of 'Something', perhaps combined with hints of 'Julia' and other bits.

I also heard this for the first time last night.  Not great but interesting because it features Roger, Dave, Rick and Nick and Ron wrote the opening brass section on Atom Heart Mother.  So a bit of a bonus track I feel!

I just heard 'A Pillow of Winds' and Meddle as a whole quite recently, myself, and I immediately fell in love with it. Frankly, for me, it almost surpasses Wish You Were Here. Almost. And, heh, no, I didn't, to be honest; as I said, I'm quite sluggish.    I'll certainly look into it, though!


Hmm, you're right; it's not spectacular, but it's an interesting, simple little tune.

I love side one of Meddle especially One of These Days and Seamus, even though Echoes gets all the fangirls squeeing I never fancied it much myself.
