The truck thunders down the highway. Less than a pony’s length ahead the Mustang races on, devouring the white stripes before it as the flicker by. Taking aim, the wolf Trash fires on Tyga, the bolt rips the through the big cat’s shoulder pinning him to the seat. A mighty roar erupts, more rage than pain and in fear Jet swerves slightly and loses speed. Wight smashes hard into to the rear of the car buckling the chassis and making it fishtail to the side. The Mustang’s rear axle is flush with the front axle of the Volvo: the perfect position to side swipe the car and make it spin out of control and Tyga knows it. Victim knows too and in a desperate move leaps from the car onto the truck clinging to the passenger side door. Tyga turns to see him climb through the door, his shoulder pinned he cannot reach for his shotgun. Realising this Victim grabs for it and lifts it ready to get the upper paw. The white tiger slams on the brakes and everything not nailed down flies forward suddenly: the shattered glass the spare shells and the shotgun wielding wolf. The Mustang hurtles ahead too, Trash watching as Victim flies out the shattered windshield and falls. Victim, as a reflex reaches back with the gun. Too far beyond the rig he runs out of time and hits the road half grating, half bouncing he loses his momentum the shotgun thrown into the air and he goes under the truck.
Only dimly aware of the noise of the wolf slamming up and down as he is battered beneath the truck, Tyga is focused on the trailer swing resulting from his sudden breaking, the trailer resolute on maintaining its original speed had swung out on the driver’s side. Accelerating and veering to the same side. “This isn’t gonna work” growls the cat and the rear most wheels of the trailer clip the body of Victim and get air. Is if the universe wanted to make a liar of him, the trailer falls into line after the tractor unit, it’s traction and speed traded for the life of a wolf.
Bargain the tiger chuckles at the thought. As he bears down on the Mustang again he spares a glance at his shoulder, considering whether he should do something about it only to see The Kindest Thing returned to the seat beside him. “Well I’ll be buggered, I should have bought a lottery ticket” he says, unable to see the tow truck closing on him from behind due to the busted wing mirror.
