True! Although they're not particularly famous. I've met the lead guitarist for a band called Autovaugn, as well as the singer and drummer from another band, Morning Teleportation. I've also high-fived the singer from the Korean punk band No Brain, and caught the leg of the singer of Cage The Elephant—Matt Schultz—when he did a stage dive.

The next fur has been in the front row during a concert.

True, but I learned it on-the-fly; I didn't have a tutorial but I had to replace hardware.
