^From what I understand, pretty much anything. It's mostly just a title. I PM my master and my pet, but I suppose you could do other things. Not sure what though... (lest you are planning on doing... erm... "non-forum-mentionable" activities... Not likely, but possible. :/)

It's like some deep (trustful) friendship or so?
Making friendship is hard.. (for me example..) and I think this makes things easier
I want to try this thing out. in real life, I'm a sub one... so a little pet search for master! :)

Ahh and other question: communication... mail? msn, skype? or other way?
