Me And My Fursona
« on: January 01, 2011, 03:31:38 AM »
Gwahh! I am so horribly brain dead when it comes to this. I keep trying, to get a clear picture of what exactly it is in my head, but I just can't! It frustrates me! *growls*

I'd really love some advice, and opinions about it. I was thinking, I could tell you all what I know for sure, and what I want kind of thing I want to show with my fursona, but I am not sure how to express it in art, or well, anything other than words. Then, you could tell me how you imagine it, help me find my way.

I'm a fox, that much I know for sure. And i'm positive i've got a black suit of sorts (What kind of suit? No clue!). I'm not buffy, i'm just fit, no 6-pack or anything.

There's so much, I want to express in a single piece of art, but I've honestly lost myself beyond this point. I'll tell you a bit about what I see inside me, and maybe you can help turn that into my fursona, give me an idea where to go. Please!  :3

I'm a sly, friendly fox. But i'm wrestling with the good and evil inside of me, not knowing which one will end up on top. I always place my friends above my own needs, and i'm looking for true love. [Removed] I'm not a very confident fox, but I wish I were. I'm like (Crazy Buffy/Angel Reference!) Wesley before he went all badass in the later seasons of Angel in that sense.

Seeeeeeee? I'm terrible at this!  :( That was probably useless, gah! I really don't know what I'm doing much, but I really wanna learn, because I know that this is what I am, and I want to start embracing it.

But er, what do you imagine my fursona looking like?

And i'm terribly sorry if this is the wrong forum section, still getting used to this! =/

So your saying you don't know what your fursona looks like?  That's an easy question to answer luckily!  Essentially, Your fursona is just you, with a species change.  If you want a specific clothing for your fursona, take your pic.  You can change it as many times as you want though.  You have already provided a basis for your fursona's appearance, a Fox.  So, we start with a humanoid shape with a fox tail.  From there on, what you want is exactly how you look.  If you need further inspiration, try looking at some other people's fursonas, find ideas there, and pick what you like and don't like.  If you need even further inspiration, ask someone (politely) to draw your fursona for you.  Easy as that, and hope that helps :D

First of all, take a deep breath.

Ok, now weve calmed down, lets go through my process of creating a fursona. I shall describe mine as an example

Step 1: pick your animal. A Lynx in this case, complete with tufted ears and ruffs on both sides on the face.
Step 2: Pick your coloring. Grey fur with lighter grey muzzle.
Step 3: Any special markings. Mine has 3 dots in a triangle shape on his forehead, and both cheeks.

Now you have your fursona. If you want to express yourself through him, you can commision someone in the art board to draw you in a certain pose to reflect that specific side of you, or write a story with your fursona as the main character, or be in an rp relevant to your tastes. (roleplay)

Also what Zombie said is good too.

see this right here cancels out what you just said to me. With the info you gave me, its telling me that you have more of a good side and you than bad. So this might mean that your fox is hiding the bad that dwells within him

yeah lots of people want to see themselfs in a different way
_____
In all lets see.
-not very confident but willing to protect a friend or be there when needed
-though your very sly you prefer not to be in the radar sort of speak
- but at the same time your evil and your are confidential about yourself because the evil side of you tells you, your wrong, worthless or other bad things.
- yet you have dreams of what you want to be the fox that you want to see your self as.

is that about it?
maybe throw in some favorite colors and things he likes or stories that you might have made all ready for him and i can draw you a picture of him for you!  ;)

About the whole wrestling with my inner goods and evils, I mean like... there are times when the good in it will overcome the evil, and in this case, surrounding friends, but there are times when the evil will overcome the good.

I'm really bad at this, umm. Think of a non-sparkly vampire, attempting to become good. He tries, but there's this whole dark part of his existence, which just won't let go of him.  It's there, it's powerful, and sometimes it can overpower the good in him. (Sigh, i've watched too much Buffy, all these references! hehe)

As for colors, I was thinking Deepish orange, maybe some red, and def black/white.

And thank you so much for drawing this! *pouncelixx*

What if you try to think of your 3-4 strongest personality traits and see if you're able to put them down into symbolic feral features? Like of you were a good listener, you'd have large ears, if you're athletic or have a good balance, a long tail, etc.?
