Changing or adding a secondary fursona
« on: January 31, 2011, 02:44:45 AM »
Charcoal has been my fursona for about 9 months, but i feel like he only captures some parts of me.  I want to create a secondary fursona that is more like me.  I have already asked a couple of my friends, those that know im a furry and those who do not know, and they say my personality would either be a wolf or a fox.  Since Charcoal is a wolf, I think that I should make this new fursona a fox. It feels really akaward re-creating myself, so does anyone have any thoughts on doing this?

Actually I was just thinking about this earlier tonight. I'm starting to feel like Gelidus doesn't catch as much of me as I want him to. I started doodling with different breeds trying to feel what fits me better. I came across the idea of having two fursonas...but it seems like nothing I do comes back to the feeling of 'rightness' of when I first created Geli...So i certainly understand it feeling awkward.
Love is only a feeling.
A feeling of security, a feeling of happiness, a feeling of lust, a feeling of belonging.
A feeling we need.
We may think we can live life without it, but a life without it would be boring, meaningless, and depressing.
Love controls us. Without love, we are nothing. With it, nothing else in the world matters
Love is only a feeling.
A feeling that makes life worth living or dying

for me, the breed is just what I like and has nothing to do with my personality. I myself have 3 fursonas to capture my entire psyche. You can have as many as you want.

I think I will have the two of them then, I have already thought of some names for the fox.

I had the same problem with my fursona, Drako (He was a wolf), I created a new one "Axyz" (pronounced Axes, as in the plural of axis).
I felt awkward to just dump my old fursona, like it was nothing, but also made me feel odd to have two fursonas.
I solved it buy making Drako my fursona, but axyz his alias.
So basicly i kinda merged them, drako changed his identity and behaves as "Axyz" who in turn behaves like me, though some of drako's old traits resurface from time to time, so i didn't really lose him. Axyz just tries to repress his old drako traits.

i have at lease 3-4 fursonas, two of which i just combined cause i feel that they were one

but its a bit awkward cause you feel your leaving a part of yourself when really, you just showing another part! You dont have to abandon the old one *unless you want to*
i know lots of people who have had one fursona for the longest time and then changed it due to life style changes, Others change it everyday!
Maybe, if you feel it awkward to change it, why dont you just add on to the one you have? *wings, cloths, video game apparel, etc* stuff like that.

Yea, I was thinking about changing Charcoal, but I like how I have him now.

How do you think Blaise would be for a name? (it is actually my middle name)

your posts intrigue me. I'm thinking of just getting rid of my fursona altogether. i feel no connection with him whatsoever. and i cant find one to stick with....

Well, I just recently changed mine from the temporary one I made just to enter the forum to the one I'm using now. It's my first "real" fursona I've given some thought and to me it felt strange changing but for the better I guess? Because I have it a LOT of thought and every aspect of it has a meaning, something deeper, even the name.

And as you can see, people usually have more than one and it's more normal than having just that one. So go ahead and make another.
