Perich says mosquitoes can find you in several ways. Some of the cues are visual. Mosquitoes, like other insects, see in the blue, ultraviolet spectrum. So they're attracted to blue lights and clothing, but not to reds and yellows. That's why bug zappers have blue lights and why some people use yellow lights on porches.

Zero ... I lived, was late but so was everyone else. There were so many accidents the cops couldn't keep up! Bumper to bumper traffic all over the place. Some guy chatted with me at 7eleven, said he was staying there till the towns did something for the roads... 3 towns i drove through, no plowing or salting! Going home will be easier, no one around so I wont mind if my car looses traction. Least i wont hit anyone while i end in the middle of a road

Unfortunately, gnats are attracted to yellow. So you're likely either bitten by mosquitoes, or left with a swarm of gnats clinging to you.
