There's nothing wrong with a long book (as long as it's good, and in my opinion, Harry Potter is extremely good).
Even if I heard it a ton, I still couldn't hate Harry Potter. I'd just get tired of it and have to stay away from it for a while. I had to do that with the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie because I watched it too much.
