well, there are 2 days of the year that I can ask my parents for something and not have to feel selfish, my birthday and christmas. I understand that I cant get everything I want, but last year I didn't want anything for christmas and my mom wouldn't do it. It was at that point that I realized my mom wanted herself to be happy more than me on christmas. Its a very selfish reason, I know, but I never think about myself, ever. And because youre going to ask, I had everything I wanted.

Unfortunately, that's parents for you. If I told my parents I didn't want anything for Christmas, they'd still get me something because they'd feel bad if they didn't even if I told them I didn't want anything. I believe a lot of parents are that way. It's not really a bad thing...
