The rabbit looked around at the others, sitting at the uncomfortable mesh seats, rocking violently from the turbulence of the plane. The red glow bathes all of the jumpers as the first ones began to stand up, hooking up their lines. Jay nervously did the same, cringing slightly as each one jumped out of the plane in turn, the wind from the door blasting him in the face, making him squint. Finally it was his turn, the sergeant yelling at him to go; Jay close his eyes and stepped out of the moving plane. He pulls the rip-chord on the parachute, expecting to be slowed down like the other below him, but he was shocked to find that he was still plummeting at the same rate!
The rabbit searches for the back-up chute chord in a panic, pulling it sharply. He breaths a sigh of relief as he looks up and sees the back-up chute deploy. That is, until he's yanked uncomfortably from his falling speed, the harness digging into him in all the wrong places. When he finally makes it to the ground, he releases the harness and reforms with his squad, his breathing is harder now - he thinks he might have bruised a rib or two. Davis, standing next to Jay, pats the rabbit on the back, "Those back-up chutes ain't made for comfort". Jay nods slowly, looking around at the quiet night. 'If I got hurt in training', the lapine thought, 'I don't want to think about doing this under fire...'
