Well...I've loved animals my whole life and disney (especially with the animals) and i've loved anthro art, star fox, sonic, all that jazz. I didnt even know what a furry was until last week when i found pounced.org, then i started talking to a guy and i'm hooked! i want a fursuit so bad now....and a new tattoo, which i'll probably get first...so yeah...lol...anyway i love the atmosphere here and all the people i have met, i'm here to stay!!

Well, it all started when I was playing an Online game called BlockLand, and I heard someone talking trash about something called "furries," so after that guy left the server, because I knew that you can't get good info from a hater of the subject in mind, I pop the question "What's a Furry?" and someone says it was a fandom of people who like to draw art of anthromorphic animals and Role-Play as them, I like to draw and look at art, and I LOVE Role-Playing, and she told me to go check it out, and I did. Lucky for me this is the first thing that came up in the search, or else I may have been reluctant to even get involved in it.

You guys are the best of friends anyone could have.

I kinda knew ever since I was a kid, always interested in the anthropomorphic cartoons back then.

I never really knew the name of the fandom until the word "anthro" kept popping up, and then I misspelled it as "anthromorphic animals" for a while till someone pointed that out for me.

Anyway, back then I only spoke Spanish and didn't understand these things, but when I realized there was an entire group of people dedicated to this I couldn't help but get excited. >:D

Well.. i always liked pretending to be an animal, but only in 2008 summer i found out the furry fandom.
since then ive seen the world in a different way... and became a bit afraid of telling people im a furry (theres a lot of.. um.. ... "bad" information and furry-hater sites)
some weeks ago a friend of mine asked me what a furfag was and i just froze and told him to search "furry", but he didn't understand (not gonna get with details, dont wanna go offtopic..).

just hope he doesnt get the wrong idea about furrys. If he does ill explain it with more details. (and probably tell the first person im a furry)

It's always been a part of who I am. I'm not going to go all TL/DR on you, as it is quite a lengthy story, but it has always been a way to reflect on my own personality and experiences as a human. I believe in animal totems and such, so that's a big part of it. eh, maybe I'll elaborate on my reasons later, but you get the main idea.
