Kai decided she would have to check up on Tyler after she was finished. Soon she moved to the next room, the metal welded to the windows had slits big enough to fire through.

Once he finished cleaning the room, Tyler changed into some shorts to sleep in later. He set his handgun on the nearby dresser, leaving the safety off in case of any unwanted visitors.


Opening his backpack, he began looking through the random things he'd gathered from their travels or that were saved from the apartment.

Holly stopped and her ears perked up. One was muffled, do to the bandages but she still had keen hearing. She stood still, listening for more movements to judge which direction they were moving.


Kai finished up and went to the room Tyler was in. She stood outside of it and knocked, she wasn't the type to barge in like Holly probably would.

[Blaiiine]

The door creaked open, with Tyler leaning out to see Kai. "Oh, hey. You done putting those welding classes to the test?" He asked, opening the door further to allow her inside the now almost spotless room.

A few more footsteps could be heard in the distance. Blaine stood next to Holly, flicking the safety off the assault rifle.

"Yeah, pretty much," Kai said with a nod. She stepped in, putting the blowtorch down next to the door.


Holly flicked her knife open and waited, ready to stab.

[Blaiiine]

"Let's go, while we got distance. I'll be right behind you." Blaine whispered, trying to keep his own footsteps quiet. The distant noises slowly grew in and out of hearing, patrolling the forest.

"Weeeell, my contribution was more of cleaning out a room to sleep in." Tyler replied sheepishly, gesturing to the made bed and barricaded windows. He walked back over to his bag and sat down again, taking a few CDs' and an old group photo out.

Kai laughed, "It is important."


Holly nodded, creeping faster towards the church.

[Blaiiine]

"Most definitely, babe." Tyler replied, standing up and setting the CDs' on the dresser. He stood there for a moment, running a hand through his hair.


"So what do you wanna do now?" He asked, keeping his hand in his now longer hair.

They reached the treeline and Blaine moved to an abandoned car for cover.

Kai shrugged, she liked Tyler as he was but the longer hair was nice. They could probably wait on a haircut even though nobody would judge hair anymore. She noticed her own was creeping farther down her back. "Figure out where the power is coming from?" She suggested.




Holly followed suit, crouch sprinting to a car near Blaine's.

[Blaiiine]

"We can do that," Tyler replied as he walked up to her and slipped an arm around her side. Ignoring the pain in his shoulder, he smiled at her and nuzzled her cheek.


"Or we could go for that walk. It's not too late out," He said, letting a lock of brown hair fall over his face.

"I should probably check that shoulder of yours first though," She said firmly.

[Blaiiine]

"Ooooh okay then." Tyler replied, stepping back to take his shirt off. Turning around, he looked back at her.


"So, it still look bad or is it healing?" He asked, nervously rubbing his arm. He hated being shirtless in front of others, one of his various anxieties.

"Okay, when it looks clear, we bolt for the closest building." Blaine whispered, sliding closer to the the edge of the vehicle.

Kai examined his shoulder for a moment, occasionally softly manipulating the skin around it with her fingers. "Healing, but it looks like you've torn it quite a lot. Not necessarily a good thing."


Holly nodded, sliding closer to her own vehicle's edge.

[Blaiiine]

"Sorry 'bout that..but y'know, had to keep you safe and all." Tyler replied, wincing as she messed with the wound.

Blaine nodded to Holly and bolted for the nearest home, finally reaching the fence. Throwing himself over, he landed hard into a bush.


"Ah hell...oh crap!" He yelled, noticing the infected coyote in the backyard. His rifle was tangled up in the branches and his handgun was stuck in it's holster.

Holly ran after Blaine, hopping over the fence near him and landing on her feet. She pulled her knife back out and stood, staring at the infected. If it charged, it would be gutted.


Kai stopped, stepping back. "And I appriciate that. Just try not to use it too much."
