Are you prepared to listen to the other side's arguments or are you just going to just dismiss them away? I was going to ask you to explain your side (why you think animals can be better than humans, why hunting is bad etc.) but it's clear you wouldn't be listening to what anyone has to say in response to it. I personally have no opinion on hunting which is why I'm wanting to see what both sides here have to say, but if that's not going to happen then there's no point being here
As a hunter myself, I feel the need to interfere right there. Yes, I am replying to a thread that tries to filter out opinions that don't match with OP's but I won't have it as I feel that this thread would be pointless without.
Now, don't get me wrong. I USED to hunt, joined my grandfather when I was a kid, and now simply don't have time for it anymore. From what I've read so far OP's vision on people that hunt is the biggest BS I've heard in YEARS!
"forcing their BS on how hunting is the all-holy savior" > I used to know quite a few and none of them found it something to be proud of. We kill animals, some for the fun, some for the meat. And we are all well aware that we are killing animals. But I do not agree to the fact that we pretend to be better than others.
I care for animals. I know I am killing them, but I refuse to see why that changes one's opinion at all. There are lots of things hunters do to make it less painful for the animal. If a tiger eats an Antelope, you think it cares about not hurting it's meal? Of course it doesn't.
For that reason, I can see why you'd think that we are entitled, but that's not because we think more of ourselves than any other human being or Animal-rights activists or whatever. We kill them for the meat and all we are doing is caring enough to make it as swift and painless as possible for the animal.
As for the actual topic, I do not think that humans are superior in any way to animals. We are simply the most advanced species on this planet, so I feel that it is our duty to take care of the ones that need it, as we are the ones who threw away natural balance for scientific advance to start with.
Not caring for animals is a choice one has to make on it's own, but I fail to see why one should not care for them. If you go and kill every elephant in Africa, you wiped out a species. If you donate to a charity like the 'Painted Dog' which tries to preserve the African Wild Dogs, you are donating to help these people save a species that's slowly dying.
Of course, from an economic point of view I can see that it's probably cheaper if they'd just not be there but in my opinion that makes you a cruel and heartless human being.
