need help drawing anthros

level 1 i dont draw furrys very good, and i especially need help mainly in the face

Anyways, what specific anthro's would you want to draw? Like human-based bodies? Or just ferals with human expressions?

furry foxes? im not quite sure what you mean!

Anthro's or anthropomorphic comes from the term human-form or like-a-human. This can reference almost anything in that area, but with regards to furry-stuff, it generally comes down to two things.
- Ferals with human facial expressions and/or emotions (The Lion King characters are a good example).
- Creatures/Animals with anatomically human body and an animal head (which I think might be what you're referring to).

Finding reference pictures can often really help no matter what level you are. it helps to be able to see what you're trying to draw.

well, i was thinking just a fox furry!   basically my fursona, do you have any reference pics?

The majority of ref pics i use are like http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/?q=male+poses (the link sound really wrong i promise its not >.<)and then i just look up other things as i need them. If you search for fox fursona's you will find a lot of great art and that can help (at least to me) get inspiration and see what to do.

Ok, I'm home now.

First thing's first, sketch a lot. And try not to worry about whether they look good. You could even just get a cheap pack of printer paper and some #2 pencils. Sketch, scribble, experiment, play.

As the others have said, references are super useful. Pinterest is a good place to look for references, especially of animals.

Here's my go-to advice to new artists:

When you're drawing, try to break the thing your drawing down into simple shapes and lightly sketch those first before you start working on details and subtleties. That will help you work out the proportions, overall shapes, and composition before getting too far into the drawing to fix any of that. Also, it'll help teach you to see shapes and their relationships. My belief is that drawing is all about seeing. What goes on with pencils and pens and paper, that's secondary.

I had no one tell me how to draw, and when I had art school they were trying to teach me things that weren't applicable to me anymore. (Me and the art teacher didn't get along from the start )

I would say to doa couple of steps (over a period of time) to learn how to draw specific things, and then later take those experiences and that knowledge to other things you haven't drawn before.

So you want to draw fox anthro's in particular? But probably later on other creatures, well, here's how I would go about it:

! ) What style are you going for? I see already tutorials how to draw Nick, a rather extremely Toony fox, but maybe you want to go more for realism, or a mix of realism and toony. Figure out what you want, and apply search results and references as such.

1) Look up reference pictures of the following: Foxes (photographs), anthro foxes (drawings), human poses you're interested in drawing. Have like 2 or more of each.
2) Look up tutorials: How to draw fox heads, how to draw anthro's, how to draw fox anthro's, and how to draw human poses. (Remember: You want to look for human poses.)
3) Practise from following tutorials, as well as trying to draw from the references. Mix it up. Not all tutorials are 'flawless', nor are all 'reference materials' flawless. So be careful when you use just one, especially if you're trying to get your own drawing style
4) This is a step you can take later, or something you can do as practise in between the other steps above: Draw from your mind, don't use references. Later, compare it to various pictures (photo's/drawings) and see if you feel you got the general idea correct on paper. Is there anything you'd change? Leave the drawing as it is and make a new one with the improvements you have in mind, so you can compare those.

When looking for an art style, as well as trying to get the anatomy down:
It's all about seeing what's similar, what's different. What would you like to change, what would you want to stay the same.
