Does anyone remember those horrible free lunches at school?

I remember, and  they were not as good as homemade or restaurant food, but I at least didn't have to pay $7.00. per day for the same food-I only had to pay $4.00 biweekly.

lol I never qualified for free lunch despite having like no cash most of the time.

I swear I have enough money in my lunch account that compared to other people my age had to survive on rations through a zombie apocalypse lol

I'd always blow my cash on that expensive pizza whenever I had any.

In my case I'd spend my money on dessert instead.

I never bought the desert it just wasn't worth it.

I see, sometimes I'd skip lunch for a couple days of the week because the lunches were expensive or not worth eating.

It was garbage but it was edible garbage. The best day was cheeseburger or grilled cheese day because they always made too much and just put out trays and trays on an empty table for the high school students to take.

I still remember it, never liked school lunch at all.
Luckily for me, there was a Subway only 8 minute walk away, so it was pretty much Subway, or I brought my own lunch from home

LUCKY!!!! Where I'm from, none of that is ever around and I couldn't risk getting caught sneaking out.

No luck here at getting free lunches at schools, heck no. Either bring your own, or if your school has a canteen, you'd have to buy food from them.
But even if you would get 'free food' or anything else that's 'free' here, it's usually included in the price of going to the school (tuition fees would include the price for food and the like). As everything does ):

I qualify for free lunch but the only good thing is the pizza on Mondays, which tasted like cardboard.
I usually pack my lunch the night before so I can sleep in later, when I remember to.

It took. A while . but u finally qualified for free lunches.
One school I was at had a McDonald's and sonic right across the way, so I never bothered to eat at school
