The massive OAS Command Carrier took the nuclear blast, and emerged seemingly unharmed. However, sensors would show that engines, shields, and weapons were offline - the only system that was unaffected was an emergency subspace beacon that went active the moment the carrier was disabled.

Yet another twist occurred when the Covenant ships' radio traffic went haywire, and the entire fleet tore tail out of there, the ion trails heading for the Sargasso outpost. "What the he--? Where are they going in such a hurry?"
"Lord-Admiral," the comms officer piped up, "I'm getting a subspace distress beacon in the Sargasso region..." the ensign paused, then added, "Sir, the Prophets' ship has been disabled by a surprise nuclear torpedo attack."
"Great," Markus grumbled. "Just what I need - a conundrum. On this hand, we have the Mandalorians and their Borg-Refitted Mandator, but on the other, we have a golden opportunity to take the Prophets out of the equation."
