*sobs* my "best friend" just found out I am a furry and basically just disowned me. He won't talk to me nor will he play PC games with me anymore, he also said that I am no longer allowed at his house. He was the person that anytime something went wrong I went to and talked to, I spend more time at his house than I spend with my parents some months.I just don't understand why he would do this. *buries face in paws and cries*

That's what I told him, it's just a hobby like him and WOW. He plays his pc almost religiously and doesn't really have a social life outside of it. I have put up with his stuff for years and for what? For him to learn who I really am and kick me to the curb because of it. I don't understand why, it's no like I'm forcing it on him or anything. I draw at school and he is the one who chooses to look at my drawings to make fun of them I'm not making him. * hugs 138 and Bailey tightly and tries to stop crying* I know you guys and gals are here for me and are my friends but having real life friends that I can go hang out with daily are different.

Dark, poor you! I don't know what to say, but the same thing happened to me last year. If there's anything we can do, just tell us! I just hope that he'll get over it and accept you as WHO you are, Not what you like. I know how hard it is at first but stay strong I'm depressed and Insecure, it reflects the same problem as what you have I think; Sadness. Though, Sadness can and will be cured by happiness. What can give you happiness you ask? We can give you positive feedback for example! There's nothing wrong with being a furry, but not everyone can see that. Will there ever be a time when everyone accepts everyone's interests ?

Thanks guys, sorry for bringing the thread down but I can't bottle this up bc I've bottled up sadness before and let's just say it was not fun having everything taken from you that is sharp. Yes they have rubber pencil, EVERYTHING was taken from me. I cannot go back

It's cool. Just learn to forgive. Don't hold a grudge. It'll only hurt you.

I don't get why furries are seen as so socially unacceptable. What's so wrong with us that "normal" people have to treat us this way?

*stops crying and slowly wags tail*  thanks for the kind words peeps.
And yes you read that right. They took my pencils bc I could "stab" myself. I never even had the idea to use a pencil, or scissors, or metal coat hangers. I felt like I was a todder nothing was done without supervision. But now my parentson have moved on from that and I'm never going back. They even bought me a truck this January for my bday.

People I think treat us differently bc they don't really know what a furry is. Most of the time their only exposure to the fans on is through a biased website or "trustworthy" news source. Now I think it's getting a little better but  obviously it still happens.
