I can speak Romanian, Bulgarian, and a lot of German.
I learned Bulgarian in school but my family spoke some German in the household.

It's normal in Europe to be able to speak 3 - 4 languages.
Don't know how orally fluent some other people are but I can understand it when people speak to me, or when it's written down.

Living in England I never learned other languages - I tried but I just never grasped it very well at all when I attempted to learn German  :(
