Steam is the only way games like that, don't get lost when the old disc you have gets so scratched up from use it's useless, sure you can burn an iso of it and use that instead, but what if some day the no-cd patches are gone when nobody cares to keep them up? I think Steam will keep it all good and if I really feel necessary I will just use VMWare for Windows xP and play it that way so there are no crashes, but to be honest I thought the game was "okay" but not great.

If I'm looking for a modded game, C&C: Renegade is great for that and definitely Half-Life 2 with SMOD.
