That's because it is fake.  I watched this deal on TV a few weeks ago where this lady had bought a quarter pounder meal with fries and everything.  She let it sit on top of her fridge for over 2 years, then she showed on Good Morning America how the burger and fries hadn't molded, rotted, or lost any color.  The only thing that happened is that the food dried out.  It shows how much preservatives are in McDonalds.  And if the food doesn't mold or break down on it's own, it's not going to in your body either, therefore, over time, those preservatives build up and make people fat.
