Is this a reference to something? I remember reading on tv tropes something about a crow bar on the furry fandom page, but I dont know anything about it.

I think Macid was referring to Half-Life, but that's just my opinion. The game is infamous for its starter weapon to be some sort of tool used as a hitting instrument like a crowbar, pipe wrench, combat knife, etc.
