I was absolutely sick when I read what was happening in Paris. Honestly, my heart goes out to the country of France and the city of Paris during this tragedy.
In light of this tragedy, i am more, well for a lack of a better term, afraid for the aftermath. The fallout inside countries such as Australia, USA, the EU, Russia, New Zealand, Canada, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland etc. will be worse than that of 9/11.
There was some talk with my friends over social media and we hypothesis that this terror attack wasn't to instill fear within first world countries but to make first world countries and their citizens attack Muslim and Middle eastern individuals.
But yes the 120+ people who perished in the wake of such a heinous crime are in my thoughts, as an Aussie i am thankful that none who were killed were Australian in origin but it doesn't mean that i don't feel any sadness for the waste of life in the biggest attack inside French borders since world war 2.
But i feel sorry also for lebanon for the 45 people who also been killed because of ISIL who also were killed this weekend.
And now to target everyone else on this thread-
Wyte Medway Millinocket-
i presume your american
but anyway don't you have like 90 deaths a day in your country to gun related incidents and that's not including injuries, i am pretty sure gun control works. In 2012 France had 1856 deaths to guns. The comparison between a non control and control shows. Also of note Australia lost 206 people to guns (2012 stats).
Why am i arguing, maybe because my dad is a cop and he had a friend (also a officer) who was killed by someone with a gun.
Vinny-
i completely agree with your statement and we have to thank Russia for destroying a large portion of ISIL's (that's the CORRECT name, not isis) maneuverability and infrastructure since they began their advancement. They recently broke a two year siege on a military base in the Alpello if i do believe, and that is very important in the long run because the Amercians couldn't and the Russian just mowed through them (with help from Iran of course). Isil is surrounded and being finally slowed and, in some places, stopped in their advancement.
To everyone on Isil-
Even if we win the battle against isil and al quade there will just be another batch of extremists rising up and taking their place. How do you stop it? (that was retorical, its up to you how you think you should stop radicalization and extremism, i have my own answer to this question).
