"Oh, okay. That's fine. What should I call you son?"
"Xander. Xander will do. It's what everyone else calls me and you're no different."
The goat had noticed the blisters on Xander's leg. "So...Xander, what happened to you? How did that happen? Does it have something to do with all the crime and murder and such your friend mentioned?"
"That specifically, no. But I've received plenty of injuries because of that. As for how it came to that, mum got a new boyfriend after a while, I hated him, ended up kicked out and it slowly spiraled from that point. Maybe it's wrong of me to blame you for it, but you aren't blameless, what you did slowly set things in motion."
There were tears in the goat's eyes. He simply nodded. "That's true. In some ways I am responsible for what happened. I probably can't make it up to you. The lizard-"
"Pretty sure he's a snake."
"The snake, said you were coming to kill me. So if that's what you're here for go ahead."
Xander's dull green eyes burned with a fire at that. "No, you idiot! I was going to yes. But you have a family now! To do so would make me so much more worse than you, and the fact you'd even just offer yourself to die like that knowing you have a family that relies on you is beyond pathetic! Don't expect me to forgive you, I won't! At least, not any time soon, however, I'm not going to hurt you. I just wanted an explanation, and to know that you at the very least regretted the decision you made long ago."
There was a long silence.
"I do. More than anything I've ever done."
"Well then Mister Mourns, I guess I will have a cup of tea." The goat nodded and head back into the house. Xander looked in the rough area of where Grunan was and flashed a smile.
