Geoff lay in bed with tears in his eyes. He wasn't upset about anything in particular, he just had an extremely sad dream. Unfortunately, most of the details escaped him. All he remembered was the emotion. After spending a decent amount of time trying to search his mind for the reason, he figured it was forever lost, and grunted as he pushed himself out of bed.
Of course, he was still recovering from his injuries. His entire body was still sore, especially his chest and spine.
His right arm was still broken but supported well enough to handle. His right hand was dominant, but thankfully he had taught himself to use his left hand for writing and other tasks years before, making him nearly ambidextrous, so he didn't have too much trouble. It was still a bit irritating, naturally.
While making breakfast in his kitchen, Geoff wondered if today would be a good day to finally cook something for Alka. The poor wolf deserved something tasty after everything he went through. Something with a lot of protein and nutrients, and easy to handle while ill. Ill people tend to like soup. Maybe that's what he should make. But what kind...
