I come from a place that they teach you that if you aren't conforming that you are evil and there is something wrong with you mentally.  So it took me way too long to come out of my shell.  But now that I am becoming more and more like me, I feel more liberated.

I get that. I know a lot of people from a similar background. I was fortunate enough with my parents though. They're very accepting.

I am lucky in the fact that I ain't in a place where people are violent or anything.  I can never say that I have been in a hate crime for being gay or anything.  Everyone here is too worried about what their neighbors think, so many people just ignore me or look the other way when I came out of the closet.  But it gets lonely.  lol I'll stop whining.
