The URAP Belfast , the pinnacle of modern spaceship technology, is an Albatross class superheavy Frigate, with a complement of 5,970 men and women, (in comparison to a modern Nimitz class aircraft carrier's complement of 3,200) ,armed with 26 Magnetic Acceleration Cannons crewed by fifty men each(Totaling out to about 1,300 men) , and propelled by 10 Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rockets, crewed by a hundred men each(1,000).
It is equipped with an Faster Than Light drive based of the Alcubierre metric, that is, contracting space in front of it and expanding space behind it. In the resulting field, the speed of light is increased, so, feasibly, A ship can go faster than the speed of light. However, the speed of everything in this field is increased, so, in the Alcubierre field, light still travels faster than anything.
The Belfast's shield is based off of 'Photonic molecule' technology; that is, photons that behave like regular, massive molecules. This is done by pumping rubidium outside the ship, and cooling it until it is a few degrees above absolute zero. Then, a laser is shone through this rubidium filled void, Creating what is, in effect, a shield. The main problem with such shielding technology is that it cannot be used in atmosphere, So the Belfast has extremely thick, tungsten based, alternating Chobham (superheavy ceramic tiles encased within a metal matrix and bonded to a backing plate and several elastic layers)/Ablative armor(armor that chips/boils away with each impact).
The shield and FTL drive are crewed by 1,500 men each. It's Magnetic Accelerator cannons fire a 700x1400MM ferrous, Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munitions shell that works in two stages. The first stage, a D-38 Depleted Uranium based self sharpening, phyrophoric (On impact with a hard target, such as an armored vehicle, the nose of the rod fractures in such a way that it remains sharp. The impact and subsequent release of heat energy causes it to disintegrate to dust and burn when it reaches air because of its pyrophoric properties.)penetrator. Once the ship is breached, the pyrophoric properties of Depleted Uranium activate a thermobaric explosive.
Traditional gunpowder is %25 fuel, and %75 oxygen, whereas thermobaric explosives are %100 fuel. (though they typically need some sort of smaller explosion/fire to set them off first)This serves to create a massive explosion, that is especially effective in the confined corridors of a spacecraft. Partly due to the sustained blast wave, and partly by consuming the available oxygen inside those confined spaces. However, if the ship is not breached, the round just harmlessly bounces off, ready to be salvaged by whoever wins the battle.
The Belfast uses "Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket" thrusters. That is, radio waves heat and ionize a propellant, then magnetic fields accelerate the resulting plasma to generate the thrust necessary to move the ship. Each of these Is crewed by a minimum of thirty men, though on a full ship like the Belfast, they are crewed by a hundred men.
The Belfast is equipped with two companies of marines, totaling out to about 270 men. (135 men each). Each URAP marine Is equipped with one suit of pressurized, self sealing, powered armor, with an on board personal medical computer, and a 10th generation Night Vision goggle.Their rifle, based off of the antiquated "G3" platform of rifles, is chambered for 7.62x55 URAP. The rifle comes with a magnetic attachment rail, and an integrated red, green, and infrared laser, self zeroing.
The Belfast's bridge, crewed by thirty men, is embedded deep within the ship. It is linked to several Ultra HD cameras on the outside of the ship, to give the appearance of being surrounded by glass, when in actuality, it is surrounded by several meters of Tungsten armor. For avionics and navigation, the Belfast has both a "Fundstücke" drone system, and an "Intermittent Scanning Pulse System", the latter only being used in dire emergencies. The drone system basically sends out dozens of tiny little drones that scan the area for about a few thousand kilometers around them. Though they are hard to find, even with the most modern sensors known to sentience, they can still be found. That is where the ISPS comes in. It sends out, as the name aptly described, an intermittent scanning pulse that gets a layout of the area for several hundreds of thousands of kilometers around the ship.
Though this will give away it's position to even the most rudimentary sensors. The ships final, last ditch weapon is a medium yield nuclear missile, crewed by 20 men. The adage "Shooting nukes" came into use with the standardization of one nuclear weapon per Albatross ship. The phrase, in it's essence, means "you're screwed." Because, even if you did survive, you would likely get a court martial. Because the nuclear launch codes signal URAP central Headquarters each time a missile is launched. This is to prevent them from using it on a planet.
The rest of the men on the Belfast are general purpose maintenance, cooks, and various other miscellaneous things necessary to run a ship.
hehe... that's the URAP Belfast!

THIS THING HAD BETTER BE ALIVE COS I PUT A TON OF RESEARCH INTO THAT AND I WANT TO AT LEAST FIGHT SOME PIRATES.
