Dunno if that was a twist.
More of a complaint about the direction they've decided to go in as far as the rivals are concerned.
I hope the next games will have a mean rival again.


But more than that, I'd love to see D/P/Pt-remakes.

I remember the one emereld at least choosing the right pokemon.

But, yes, each and every encounter with Klootviool promptly concluded with my beloved Mightyena having slapped all 6 of his pokemon in the face...
