I think I figured it out though.
The reason why we're all winners is because we're succesful in making nobody the winner!

Isn't that a bit counterintuitive? Considering the winner is determined by a final poster wouldn't that mean that nobody is a winner until the thread is closed. You'd have to compare this to a marathon. Until there's a finish line, there is no winner, only people surpassing each other to take the first pace

The temporary is relative and so is the winner. The winner would only be winning at a point and not the winner considering winner is an end title and winning is an action determined by it's place value.

Ie I'm winning but I'm not the winner. And unless someone posts beyond this point I will continue winning until I've won

Which is true, but if you look at it from another perspective you win the fact that someone isn't winning anymore. So technically you and I are both winners in not letting each other win.
