Airbrush or no?
« on: September 19, 2013, 11:17:05 PM »
 XD Hello fellow furries!

I need some help! @.@ I am making my first Furry Costume, which will be a realistic looking tiger. I want to buy white faux fur and then airbrush the whole thing but I am wondering if that will be too challenging for my first fursuit. SHould I try just to find tiger faux fur and work with that or what do you think? I Really want to go to Anthrocon next year so I want to try to figure out what will work best. Also, if you suggest using the tiger faux fur then how do you recommend I do the face. Much help would be appreciated!!! Have a good day fellow furries! :)

Airbrushing looks nice, but there is also another problem that airbrushing brings along: After some time of wear, it will start to 'rub off', basically. So you might need to re-airbrush every now and again.
I'm not sure how often though.
I would suggest looking at different tiger faux fur first, see how much they cost, how they look like, etc.
Afterwards you can always decide on getting the tiger faux fur or the regular white faux fur and still airbrushing it :)

Ahh...I didn't think about that one.  @.@ Do you have any idea where there could possible be decent tiger faux fur? Every fur I have looked at is so shirt...Tigers have longer hair so I want my furry to have the same length. So hard!

Do you live near a fabric shop? Ask them if they can get some of the fur you want in.

I aszked waterstones for a specfic book once and they imported it with no extra charge

I'm guessing you live in the States(?) in which case you have a lot of (cheap) abilities to find fabric shops, and most (cheap) online fabric shops are from the US, so shipping is either free of charge or very cheap.
I say this, because I realise how difficult it is in my own country to get (good) faux fur, and for a reasonable price.
