True, more specifically the weak anthropic principle basically comes down to idea that conditions that are observed in the universe must allow the observer to exist.


For example is it surprising that we find ourselves on a planet that supports human life.  No, because it is the only planet we could be on.  So the actual question is whether it is surprising that ANY planet support human life and that is much less surprising considering the number of planets.  It's still cool though :D
