A big sloppy doggie kiss hello!

 Hey all! Brand new to this Forum and new to the Furry world in general!

So why am I here? Well, I wrote a fanfic last year about a character who was turned into a dog (pit bull to be exact). I really had fun writing it and it was fairly well received.

Then a close friend just published a book through Amazon about animals, something along the lines of 'Watership Down,' and I had a great time reading it.

And I realized I was thinking a lot about animals, and *then* I realized there was a whole fandom devoted to stuff like this!

So far I'm not so sure about the anthropomorphic aspect, although I'm having fun looking at all the artwork and thinking of how I might represent myself as an animal. I'm more into the idea of animals exemplifying the best that humans can be, that they are purer in a way and can help us humans concentrate on the important things in life, or the things that should be considered important! There's probably a name for this kind of Furry, but I don't know what it is!

I'm really impressed with the things I'm seeing on this site and the people I'm reading about.  So, hello again, and I hope to increase my activity as I grow more comfortable here... B)

I think I'm a bit older than a lot of the people on this site! So I'm not into some the things you young pups are into, like online games and such!  XD


Reading, writing and working fulltime are just about all I have time for! I think that's one reason I'm having so much fun reading the posts and hearing about other people's experiences...

 :)  god day mate, nice ta see your already getin in touch with the locals,ae.. i hope ta see that you find out alllll about the fandom. all of the good,the bad,and the ugly. i hope to see you in the effort in getting the furry truth out there and not the ones portrade on the tely. like csi and etc...   oh and good luck on your writing.

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome! A little more about me:
Books I've read most recently are the Baroque Cycle by Neal Stephenson. There's nothing really furry in there, but they're super good books.

Of course, Watership Down was one of the defining books of my childhood. (Hint of how old I am: when it was first published, we ran down to the bookstore to get a copy because we were so excited! That very copy from 1972 is sitting on my bookshelf right now, battered, but well-loved!) As loved as Watership Down was, Adams wrote another book called Shardik. It was pretty much as hated as Watership Down was loved! I wonder if anyone on this site has read it? It was about a powerful bear, but it was not pleasant reading by any means.

We also loved the Dr. Doolittle books when I was a kid. Nowadays, you young-uns have tons of stuff to choose from! You have no idea how fortunate you are!
