Black bear? Brown bear? Grizzly bear? Polar bear? Panda? Come together, ursine brothers and sisters!


I'm an American black bear. I'd love to hear from any other bear folk on the forums. ^w^

Pandas are part of the Ursidae family, and there isn't that many of us (on here, as of yet). I see no reason to separate them from the rest. :P

Wonderful! I should never have started watching bear videos, now I can't seem to stop.
The bear climbing the ladder looks so sheepish when he's reprimanded! And 'burr' is a perfectly lovely coinage. I'll keep that one on hand.

Black Bear at Whistler Gas Station
I used to live quite close to where this video was taken - I miss bears! Sometimes I wish I'd decided to study them, especially with all the bad press they get. The fellow who got torn apart by a grizzly (when he was feeding and touching the bears, with no proactive measures to protect himself in case of the worst, no less) hardly helped matters. Ah well.

P.S.: It's nice to meet you. Is a 'wizard bear' precisely what it sounds like?

Oh, my fursona used to be a wizard. She no longer is one (now her abilities are more Avatar: the Last Airbender-esque with a twist, basically), but I forgot to ask to change my custom title. I need to think of a new phrase there.

I love bears. The bear was my mother's favorite animal, and I began to appreciate them more and more as I grew up. My fursona was originally a cat (and I was a lynx when I first joined the site), but I realized the bear fits my personality so much more. X3

What lead you to appreciate bears and use one as your fursona?
