A fursuit maker needed..
« on: December 09, 2011, 10:20:19 AM »
I want a fursuit maker for a commission but I'd like to find one within a reasonable driving distance
from where I live in Corona CA for a in person custom fitting.  I have no idea where to go and at
this time I have no one to help me with making a duct tape dummy. But I also could use referrals
to any good fursuit maker.

What I have in mind is a dalmatian dog. I haven't nailed down a name for him yet, but this is what
I have so far,[Spots the fire dog;-] what do you all think? I still want a realistic wolf or Siberian Husky
fursuit someday, but you might say this dalmatian dog will be my work suit. I plan to use the dalmatian
dog fursuit for charity events to support different burn and firefighter charities.
Here is what I have in mind, something that looks like this (but of course not exactly like it) >

except as a full fursuit. And I also want a good chin strap to keep the head on in the wind. This is so
I could stick my head out of a firetruck window while driving down the road. My friend has a classic 60's
firetruck and he does parades for a burn charity. I figure it would be a bad thing if my head blows off
during a parade.LoL Also I'm hoping to have a dog collar made and have a dog name tag made that's
in the shape of a fire hydrant with my characters name on the front. And a memorial paragraph on
the back side to firefighters who lost there lives in the line of duty, including those we lost on 9/11.

What do you all think? Personally I think that I'm going crazy, but I think this will be fun for me and
possibly do some good.

unless you have a really, REALLY poorly done and loose suit head, they should not be able to fall or pull off without some intentional effort.

Unfortunately I can't really help you with finding a fursuit maker, but somebody else around here might

Thanks

I'm still very new at this stuff. As for the head, I need enough room under it to wear glasses
and I'm afraid that might make for a looser fitting head.

Have you thought of trying contacts then?

That could help make the head a little less of an issue

I'd love to be able to wear contacts, but I can't. Trust me I tried but I couldn't find any contact lenses that
would fit the shape of my corneas. I tried several different types and none of them would lay flat on my eyes.
I'd blink and be able to see good for half a second, then the lens would pop up and then every thing would blur.   >:(

Aw darn! That's lame.

Hmm... I suppose corrective eye surgery is an option, but that's pretty extreme  XD

Sorry, looks like you may have to stick with glasses for now at least until you're able to find contacts that can fit.
