Silly American Mail

So a friend is trying to send a small package that weighs about one pound, to me. A few years back this would cost around $20 with FedEx. Now, it'll be over $70. The US Postal Service wants about the same amount of money as well and he can't think of a cheaper way to mail it over.

Do you guys have any advice? $70 is too much for the poor guy right now.

Uhh... yeah I'm going to have to say he must be trying to use express shipping because that's highly expensive. If this an international shipment though just use Priority International? http://www.usps.com/prices/priority-mail-international-prices.htm

EESH! Try the flate rate shipping boxes, OR have the post office pop up all the ways he can ship. If he doesn't mind it taking 7 to 10 days it will be cheaper. Shouldn't cost that much though, I've mailed lots of things that weight more and it's never been that high.

Yeah I thought it was outrageous as well... It costs around $20 for me to mail something to him, and that includes large plushies and heavy things.

Thanks all, I'm gonna bring the info on. :D

I know I'm late, but yeah, I think you should look into those flat rate shipping boxes.
"If it fits, it ships for one flat rate" is what they say if I can remember right.

T_T According to the silly american mail service, they claim to have "lost" my package which wasn't a cheap purchase. I'm very displeased with the little  buggers at the present moment. This is the second time I've lost my mail to those bums...Now I have to get them to pick up the bloody phone and pay me back for my package.
T_T Mow...!
I could really use some real dragons fire breath now, but roaring out of rage will have to do...until I'm done making the prototype for a flammable non-toxic spray gun I'd put inside my dragons head mask, so everytime I open my mouth wide, the spray is released and I'd just have to light a light... away from my head accourse..though on windy days it might not prove to be such a good idea. Still stuck in the blueprint stage...sighing sadness.
....Though it would still be kinda cool if I could display my rage with fiery breath.Terrifingly Glorious....Mwahahaha...
T_T But I'm still annoyed at the US post though... :'( Why must they anger me so?

I am that I am, even if only for a moment. And I will always try despite my flaws to summon what I can to become better than what I was.

At times like this, I am very happy with not living in America. Actually... I am at all times. But that is off topic. :P

Where I live, we only have one postal service and it's so huge no other can compete with them. But they do refund all packages they break/lose out of principle, unless they can prove it was badly wrapped (that's why you have them pack it for you. ;) ) Even if it's a $3 toy. It was their mistake, why should we suffer?
