I am new to the furry world and I am wanting to learn how to draw furry me and my mate. Does anyone have a good idea of what to reference on?

  • Build: Since I made this guy in a program that didn't allow me to change the bulk or build of a furry, I would say about Average.

Me, personally, I didn't have a reference when I first drew Benny. I... Wait, I drew him in Happy Tree Friends style first. Ironically, I don't even like Happy Tree (Expletive). Okay, I didn't have a reference when drawing him in my own style, but my guess is that you're trying to go for a more complicated style.

Well, your fursona is a panther, right? All I can say is to look at pictures of panthers and study human anatomy. That's really all there is to it.

also, being new to the fandom, i would make sure that your fursona is really right for you before you go all gung-ho on making pictures and spending money on ref sheets, trust me, i know. I was sure of my fursona for my first 6 months in the fandom, but then i realized it just wasn't right for me. It may change, it may not, but make sure it is right for you ^_^

Are you talking about actually drawing furries? Or creating a fursona?

yeah i can help you also if you pick one cause theres kind of a big difference on how to go about it.  :/

Drawing furries, i guess look at reference other people made all ready and just copy theres (while having consent and giving thanks for using it too) do that until you find a style you like and then start making your own stuff. Thats how most people learn that i heard of (has always drawn and doesnt know how to explain this)

creating a fursona can fallow what i said above BUT if your making a wolf, try both looking at references that are all ready made, while looking at a picture of a wolf (or what ever fur you might want to draw) and lastly thinking where you want your markings like scars, spots and what not.

hmmm maybe i will just let Zephyr explain it instead... im not good with words  >.>
