when is love pointless?

I've been reading through the forum and realising that everyone on here is really good at giving advice.. This wasn't the idea when I joined the site, but maybe someone could give me some advice on what to do in my current situation...

I met this guy around a month ago, and we hit it off straight away.. We've had a few dates, and spend pretty much every night sat in his room watching films, talking, [removed] or driving round talking.. We've got really close, telling eachother so much, and really starting to trust eachother..
There was a slight conversation about 2 weeks ago about 'us' and he said he wanted a relationship to form organically between us..
However, the other day he found out I'd developed feelings for him.. This was our first argument.. He said he doesn't want to hurt me and he's not looking for a relationship.. He's also made it clear that I can see other people.. And now were back to how we were...
He makes me really happy and I really am falling for him.. I don't know what to do, cause he seems to be contradicting himself on the whole relationship stuff..
Do I stuck around and enjoy myself, or is he just going to leave the moment someone better comes along?

Sounds to me like he really cares about you and doesn't want to rush your relationship and have it crash. (story of my life) By letting it progress naturally, and when each of you are comfortable, you should develop a stronger bond with each other. Oh also, if he doesn't want to hurt you, he's not gonna leave you if someone better comes along. Hope that helped a little.

I totally agree with macid. Sounds like you should hold the gates, AKA keep it slow.
To me he sounds like a novel guy, and theres no point rushing something that so obviously (To me, at least) appears to have a possible future.

Frankly, it sounds to me like he means exactly what he's saying. He doesn't want a relationship, so I wouldn't expect it to happen. Not saying that it couldn't change in the future, but if you can't accept that it might not, it would probably be healthier for you to back out. It's up to you though.

Thanks guys, I think ill stick to it, I know there's a big risk it might not work out and ill get hurt.. But I don't want to lose the happy times just because I might get hurt.. Shall stay hopeful and take things slow.. At least if anything, there's a good friendship there
