Stupid parents
« on: October 25, 2010, 12:19:43 PM »
Well, time to let you all know something else about me. I hate my parents. Passionately. Sometimes we "get along", but most of the time we're just yelling over their ridiculous rules. I'm 17 keep in mind.

First of all, last night, they saw me talking to my gf on my DSi's internet browser, and got mad cuz I "never told them it could do that" and my mom like, slapped her hand on her leg, as if to say "great". And then i said you dont have to get upset, i told you it could go online, and she's like, I'm not upset, then I said, then why'd you do this? And did the same motion she did. She stormed out of my room. Then my dad came in and lectured me about not filling up the car when I came back from visiting my gf in madison. He never told me to fill it up, he just told me i'd have to pay for the gas. I didn't have any money left after bus fare. Then, he goes on about how "Having an unrestricted internet on my ds is a bad thing, cuz I can look up All the "dirty sites" I want." that stuff hasnt been a problem with me for a while. Last thing he said when leaving my room was, "Dont delete the history" like I'm letting him touch my DS.

well, class is starting, so i gotta go, but theres tons more. I'll post it later.

edit: the rest of the story.

so anyhow, i call my gf to tell her what happened, and then my dad pokes his head back in and says, "Make sure you wake yourself up tomorrow, cuz your mom isnt going to (I get used to my alarm after a while and it stops affecting me, so i have to switch it, but when i'm used to it, she wakes me up)." I asked why, and he said "She doesn't like your attitude." I was speechless. "I didnt have an attitude." I said, and he gets his "serious face" on, and says, "Joey, (My name :P) I'm just down the hall. I heard you." Theres no freakin way. I never raised my voice. My mom probably just went in and complained to him, and he just does whatever she says, and agrees with whatever she says. Never listens to my side of the story.

Oh, and when we were arguing about internet browsers, I said "in less than a year, i wont even have restrictions on the internet, so whats the point?" and he said "Well I can make this year miserable for you." All i was doing was stating a fact, and he freaked on me!

there's plenty more little details, but I've ranted enough. Thanks for reading!

Dude this is nothing anybody's never heard or experienced before. We've all got parents who act the same over different things but act the same nonetheless. I'm 17 too. My parents tell me I have to fill up the truck when I'm done with it (and I take it pretty far) it costs $100 to fill it up each time. I can't afford that kind of money but I need to use it for school and for hauling my dirtbike. SO my mom was cool and gave me my dad's spare credit card (xD) my mom used to tell me the rant about the unrestricted internet. I have my rights and we can make our own choices. If I'm going to look at pr0n, then I will. If I'm going to get drunk on a school night, then I will. If I'm going to talk to my gf, then I will.

Why your mom would act mellow dramatic over something like that is beyond me (tell her to take some pills or something). I can understand you dad about the internet...if you were 12. I also get chewed out for not filling up my truck cuz my dad uses it sometimes. I mean, its a courtesy thing you know? Fill it up so you don't have to do it later or you're not stuck with little gas when you rushing out. So I fill up my truck when I can.

oh, its not that i didnt want to, I gladly would've. Its just he told me that he told me to fill it up on my way home, and I know for a fact he never said that. I have no problem with doing my part to pay for gas. I know how expensive it is.

And hopefully they dont find this site. Because they probably will. I'll find ways to get on though.

Life is sometimes unfair, we don't ask for the parents we have.
But seriously, what can you do about it? Can you honestly live somewhere else?
Could you honestly bare living in foster care, like I have and still am?

Be fortunate you atleast have your parents who, believe it or not, give a damn about you.
Parents are not perfect, they are human beings just like you and I who have opinions that may seem wrong to you.
Sometimes they can't understand but even after you try to get them to understand, sometimes its hard.
I bet there are things your stubborn about and can't understand.
Try seeing it through their eyes and try to understand how they feel.
Its hard but atleast you have a home. Many others don't.
You have food, shelter, water, a room, etc.
When your eighteen and older you wont really have to listen to their rules, untill then just do what you have to do.

nothing in my view, but my parents, like many others, associate furries with porn.

IKero we care about you <3

But yea red claw, I know it sucks and all, but they are your parents, you live under there roof, you have to listen to what they say. It sucks and all that parents can be melodramatic sometimes over stupid things, but all you can do is nod your head and let it go.
