A funny thing is that sayingn that halloween doesn't really exist in my part of the country isn't really trough.

It deffinetly exists, but it's seen as an excuse to throw festivals and parties, rather than to go by doors with the kids.

It's actually a holiday for spirits who are still on earth.
But we don't want them so we scare them away.

And now I'm an animist thinking that if that's the idea behind Halloween, it's an incredibly stupid one.
Personally I can draw Halloween back to All Hallow's Eve, which used to be a Roman Catholic holiday that had nothing to do with scaring other people. Rather, it was done to honour and remember the dead.

Yes but that goes even further back to some pagan traditions of honouring the spirits of the dead and helping them pass to the afterlife.
Namely Slavic culture had a holiday named forefathers day. I bet all the other old cultures had that too

Oh yes. I mean we're talking about Halloween but it applies to Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, 4th July, New Year, that's all holidays I know but if there are any other it probably applies too

FYI, I wasn't trying to act superior. Like I said, it'd be stupid because in practise it wouldn't work like that. And HellEye already corrected me on that by mentioning that people acted more out of superstition back then since people didn't have the knowledge we do now.
