And, I don't neccecarily think so.
GPS needs atom clocks because it's signal travels at the speed of light, making it an almost immeasurably short travel time. But, I think that systems with other waves, like radar for example, are more managable. I've been to maritime college, and I've never heard of navigation radars having atom clocks, even though their range measurments are said to be more accurate than their bearing measurements.
And, yes, the MCU's that I ordered have 16 kb of flash, if I'm not mistaken. But, I still don't expect to get that done with a single 20-DIP microcontroller!
