No, it was only visible for a few minutes, or less. But it turned out that, whatever the father figure and me saw, wasn't said satellite...

I'm convinced that it was a satellite, and not an airplane, because of it's speed, missing con-trail, and only a very dim solid light, and no other navigation lights, but the satellite that was talked about moved from north to south, and not south to north.

And another reason why it was soo special, is that it orbited in such a way that it's solar panel reflected the sunlight down to the Netherlands every few seconds, as it passed by, wich would make an extremely bright flash in the sky.

Too bad we didn't see it... :/

Some of them have a really low orbit. And some, like the ISS, are also really huge.


I've personally heard that it's even possible to spot GLONASS satellites (Russian search-and-rescue) with the naked eye, during broad daylight, because of their low orbit.

I've seen photos of ISS.
The camera was zoomed on the sun
And the ISS was still like 1/50th of the diameter of the sun.
I don't think you could see that, maybe besides a random light reflection at night or something.
Or maybe my eyesight just sucks
