In the Netherlands, it's said that you're quite lucky if you can find a flat for less than 1K per month.

But, yes, I don't know anything about living in Poland, soo I'll delay with being jelly untill I've actually been there myself...

Well, it's called a "hypotheek" in Dutch. It's a little less scary, since it doesn't involve any terms relating death, but just as expensive...
