Well personally I've always found myself to do much better with physical pens and pencils than any online tools I've ever used. However my house doesn't have a scanner as far as I can tell. My dad assures me there is, but I have yet to see for myself.

If you had spare cash, you could get one of those portable scanners, they are super cheap and reliable!


A few years back all i had was paper and pencil to use and i know the feels. Fortunately i had a scanner.


And yes SAI is actual drawing, you would need a drawing tablet to use it properly. Otherwise it would be as useful as MS Paint xD

I usually use a combination of openCanvas 1.1 and Paint.NET, depending on the project. The crazy design I have in my avatar (Looks A LOT cooler in full size) was made while messing around with things in the latter program.

 I also drew with Manga Studio at one point, but that was borrowed from an old friend and I wiped out my computer since we grew apart. Would be rude to ask to borrow it again.

I just want to say, I've used MS paint exclusively to make all my online art. I haven't made anything particularly worthy of note, but I've made some basic pixel art and some helpful graphs. However, I managed to make quite a few games and simple (albeit crappy) drawings out of the program.
