I really haven't had much opportunity yet to find out how performance speedy linux mint really is, but I haven't experienced any lag thus far while using it. Not surprisingly there was more programming applications than anything else in the "software manager" program list.

It's now my primary OS. If you're on the Google campus looking for employment at any point in the future, you are not allowed to use Windows at all :P. It's much easier to stay focused on programming and modeling when there is nothing you can really do except programming and modeling. VMWare/Virtualbox exist yes, but it's never the same speed as native support. Despite the tons of support for Wine, if you are using graphics card intensive it's not going to work properly so it's just not a reasonable solution.
