Still useful. I don't have anything to clean the wound but there's no swelling which is a good sign. I'm going to ball up my shirt and tape it tightly to the wound. That's the best I can do for now. If I lie still that might help.

I would advice against stitching the wound yourself, for these reasons

1. Sewing needles mightn't be sterile, causing infection (making the problem considerably worse >.> )
2. Stitching is probably left to an expert
3. Because you're not feeling any pain it's very possible while stitching you cause more damage without actually realizing it

How much is it bleeding? A lot, like spurting a lot? If it's just bleeding, I wouldn't worry too much, just apply pressure to it but I don't think you'd like, bleed to death from that.

As the article states you've probably cut a vein, which isn't as serious as cutting an artery which can be life threatening. So for now just apply pressure, what will happen (this happens for small-to-medium sized wounds anyway) is that the blood will eventually dry and clotting will occur (not necessarily from the dry blood) and that clotting will stop the bleeding.
