As I keep saying, I'm not misanthropic. But every day I see more and more reasons as to why many people are. Right now there's a topic about overpopulation, and I keep telling people "Yes, it IS happening," but they keep asking me for proof. But I don't know where to FIND proof, and right now I'm in the mood where I'm too prideful to both admit I HAVE no proof and to admit I'm wrong.

I also notice that a lot of the people in that topic are thinking about "The good of the human race" but they seem to think that things that could kill many other creatures or even the planet are "for the good of the human race." There's also things like chopping down forest and refusing to save energy that people say are "for the good of the human race" but in turn will destroy everything else. I'm also getting the vibe that the topic, while it has about an hour's worth of debate in the first post, is just trying to prove that overpopulation doesn't exist just so people can continue to think about "the good of the human race" instead of the good of the planet or the good of the environment or even the good of everything. And no matter how many times I tell them "We could fix overpopulation problem by limiting children," they keep saying it's a bad idea. Again, I know not everyone is like this, but a lot of people I know are.

Note: This is NOT a misanthropic topic. Please do not talk about how "evil" humans are, because news flash: we're ALL human.

Well, it's not so much that it's we haves too many people on earth, it's we have too many people in certain areas.
We could fit 6 billion people in LA county ALONE, so we just need to spread out.
And many things people do that they say is "good for the human race" is really benefiting mostly them with minors benefit to others.
I do agree, many things people do are more for themselves, or they don't think of the wildlife and plant life that they are damaging.
And if you want to find proof, take china for example. They HAVE put restrictions on children, and they can't have graveyards because of the space it would take up.
That have been said, I'd like to say that a LOT of things we ALL do have more of an impact than we think.

*Sigh* I guess you have a point. That's what the people in the topic were saying too. Maybe I was just in a mood where I needed a fellow fur to get me off the high-horse. But now I made myself hated for what I said on the other site. *sigh*

That being said, what are some of the things people do "for the good of the human race" that hurts the rest of the world?

Tearing down public parks and forest like areas for shopping malls. Sure it makes it easier to buy milk, but your killing s bunch of trees.
I'm not usually one for protecting nature, but why have another shopping mall that's only half a mile closer than the last?
America could use a walk, too... America is the fattest country in the world, ya know.
Some things besides that is the oil refineries.
Really, I have NO idea what they are putting out, but if large amounts of flame and black smoke is coming out 24/7, it CAN'T be good for the environment.

no offense, just to step over you green thing "we should all go green" thing "depopulation" thing is really stupid and is happening anyway weather we like it, notice it or not. To the point were it literally written it stone. (The Georgia Guide Stones)

population shal not go over 500,000,000 =/ yeah its not a joke read the other crazy laws that are soon to come of people keep getting distracted with the stupid petty human flaws that we have. Oh and thats not all this isnt just one stone, if you look it up you will see that they made one for all languages so everyone knows whats all going to happen to them.(yay...?)

the reason why we as humans as a whole (not all but im talking about the majority) dont give a crap about the earth is... why should we? I mean think about it, we have been so long separated from the earth we have hardly to no connection to it. So how or why should we care about something that most of us has no connection to. Its just another tool or its just dirt, why should we care? (im only saying from what i observe)

personally im not 100% against the green thing i admit that some of the things going green did was good, must most are destructive and thats just so you feel good about being green.
Wind mills are a good idea.... when actually played out, they drive some creatures insane to the point where they leave the area just because of a noise we cant hear that the windmill makes... soo that can be fixed but not only that we haven't gotten to the point and i dont think we ever will. To get to the point where windmills put out even close to 50% of the energy that we use.
Solar is kinda funny cause to make the darn thing you use 3times the energy than it puts out and on a average is like the wind power, it cant get us up to 50% of our usage i think they only take care of the 10% of the energy we use but ONLY in that small area there in

there are more green things that i find funny to just plain stupid like the ever dumb electric car that causes just as much if not more more pollution than a normal car does JUST by being made and it continues its pollution race with the normal cars but fueling up with that electricity that guess what ? Still needs COAL to burn to fuel up your car so yeah your still 'killing the earth'

That oil spill for a change in subject is STILL going and even the green people i talk to has forgotten it! Its not on the news so that must mean they fixed it or its all better now or SOMETHING. But the spill is a good example of CORPORATIONS i hate it when people beg the corp to have a heart and clean the mess that they made. Its kinda funny, but people forget corporations are there to make MONEY! Thats it, nothing more. And cleaning up after themselves costs money... lots of money and thats not in there interest. So expect that to happen alot.

meh i could rant on this forever but i will later
yes people are stupid, but people are even more stupid if they go with what the TV tells them to cause then they arnt thinking freely and i want nothing to do with someone who cant think for themselves, and make conclusions on there own.

EDIT: guess who else said what they were doing was "good for the human race".... if i remember right it was Hitler, and just about every other person who was trying to rule the humans.

Armagre, please tell me you are a troll.

Let me tell you that every once in a while (1 or 2 times a month) I go out and clean the street near my house of trash. Even though it's for nothing cause it just keeps getting dirty, I do it anyway. And do you know why? Because broken bottles, jagged metal cans, and other things kill animals and I care about the environment. And besides that, if we all just "stopped caring" as you are suggesting, then this world will go to trash before we know it.

Solar Power may not be as powerful as more destructive engeries, but it helps us to be conservative and use our appliances less. Electric cars, again, they may use less energy, therefor they go slower, but they help us be conservative. And regardless of what you say, what you said ****ed me off cause you're wrong and the worst thing we could possibly do is NOT care and let the planet be destroyed.

We fight, we recruit, we are the anthropomorphic army. FDF forever!
